A picture from the road
My project theme talks about distance, a long and constant journey every week for more than four years, from Yarka to Jerusalem and vice versa. Over time, I realized how much I love the trip, the music, the spectacular landscapes that each time are different from the last time. Different colors, different people. During the trip, I am neither here nor there, as the desire for the road to not end feels just as euphoric as the desire to reach my destination. In Arabic, there is a saying "الطريق للبيت احلي من البيت نفسه" The way home is more beautiful than the house itself. I designed a collection inspired by the travel experience that concerns me and the saying. In my collection, I present this experience that brings joy to my soul; colorful scenes, layers of fabric, the long road, the clothes that cover and embrace the body, the detailed corridors, intersections, and mountains. Most importantly, the voluminous collection expresses a combination of various trends that symbolize a strong personality with a touch of raw emotions and a lot of sensitivity. Materials: organza, satin, linen, cotton, tool. Working techniques: quilting, tailoring.
