In a world where interpersonal communication suffered a blow due to social distancing and screen technology, people no longer look one another in the eye. Using naïve elements that wish to return and restore a forgotten, simpler past, the project developed a bench that replaces alienation with a renewed experience of intimacy. The bench is designed for public waiting areas. Playful in essence, it walks the line between the single and the double using partitions, and allows a range of scenarios for different users – from complete separation to sparking a conversation.
