FRIENDLY FIRE

Guy the soldier is standing on his guard post. Meanwhile, Ali, a Palestinian boy from the near settlement is playing with his red football. By accident Ali is kicking the ball into Guy’s helmet. This accident leads them to start a friendly football game. A group of Palestinian kids and a group of soldiers from Guy’s unit are hearing the game and join as an audience. As time passes the friendly game gets more intense when the soldiers are converting military equipment for football needs. The unequal game between the two groups is escalating and the line between a friendly game and war is getting blurred. Each animation frame was painted physically on a barrier with wall paint. This technique allows us to make the connection between a local story and its relevant location.
