In the beginning of Love

My project is a couple's toolkit for Shabbat that serves to connect my religious beliefs with the secular outlook of my spouse. Shabbat is a profound point of family contact, embedded with the secret of the world's creation. Similarly, our home - in which my own world is being made - love, creation, and life. The project's core is in the commandments that wrap the Shabbat, from its beginning to the Havdalah ceremony, performed as the Shabbat ends. The round shapes that characterize the parts of the project express the desire to be whole and united. The series of six utensils was created out of a profound intention to innovate in my connection with Jewish tradition while emphasizing the shared and enabling a space to observe our personal Shabbat.
