On the way again
The project is about my return to my parents' home after several years away from home. The relationship with my mother, the main character in the house, brings back childhood memories and gives complex meaning to my new place in the home. Inspired by my hair which sets me apart from the other household members, and especially from my mother, I work with silver threads, tying, braiding, weaves, untying, cutting, and stretching. Words I wrote and drawings I drew along the way tell a story about mother and daughter, little girl and home, a bird and freedom. These become jewelry that converges and spreads out, gets tangled then released to create their own journey on the body. They highlight my need to leave home and, on the other hand, the fear of getting up to go on my way again. Material | silver 925, fine silver, enamel. Working techniques | classic goldsmithing techniques and enamel work
