The project describes the process of the mother's birth and her adaptation to the new world she is exposed to, from pain, awkwardness, and heaviness to lightness and joy. The order of the models describes the process. I chose to use the macrame technique to create textiles. The tying of the ropes traces the process of the symbiosis between the child and the mother. The knots are often tight, and their weight pulls and weighs down the garment. On the other hand, the light, thin threads that float lightly on the body resemble the lightness and spaciousness. The cuts and fabrics are borrowed from everyday clothes but with variations in volume. The extra layering and creases may weigh down or, on the other hand, complement the wearer. I used a dying technique with rust for the fabrics and ropes. Rust is a natural process that embeds itself in an object, and they become one entity. When rust is not treated as a nuisance, its beauty and aesthetics can be seen. Like rust, life is made up of moments of beauty and ugliness that merge and leave their impression on us. The colors express a gradual palette I created inspired by water, sky, and earth that symbolizes the connection between a spiritual experience and its relation to the earth, the realm of action. Materials: ropes, cotton threads. Working techniques: macrame, rust dyeing, synthetic dyeing, knitting, embroidery.
