Sha’atnez
Can you choose between mother and father? I have always lived in Sha'atnez between opposing worlds, and I have always struggled to connect them. My home was a mix between a religious mother and a secular father. My neighborhood was Hasidic, my high school was secular, I became religious at 16, and today I am married to a national-religious man. In my collection, I present who I am, a little bit from all worlds. I combine absolute modesty with emphasis on what is forbidden to emphasize, layers of clothing that are all of the layers of the worlds that I insist on connecting. In the fabrics, I combined my love of colors and art with the faith and Judaism that I am proud of. Materials: cotton, drill, viscose, como, linen, fake leather. Working techniques: photoshop, digital printing, tailoring, quilt.
